Guided Meditation

Meditation involves learning to be aware of your mind, simultaneously cultivating mindfulness and a state of mental calm through focusing the mind. Across the weekend, Festival patrons can participate in free guided meditation by Venerables of Fo Guang Shan, including the popular 八段錦 (Ba Duan Jin) Meditation and Buddhist Ch’an Meditation.

Tai Chi, often referred to as “meditation in motion” is a combination of slow-moving exercises that help to bring about a state of mental calm and clarity. In Chinese culture, meditation embodies a formless entity that permeates all aspects of life from our thoughts to our actions, also practiced for both its defence training and health benefits, focuses the mind on movements of the form to help bring about peace of mind, tranquillity and clarity.
